Cafe Sketch 9-27-11

  1. These are, of course, really good. I can tell you are having some fun with proportions on a few but there are a couple, like the guy where the skull cap and reading at the table, where I'm not sure the proportion change is intentional. Like I said, these are good, I'm just knit-picking.

  2. Majority are normal, and only about 3 or 4 sketches are exaggerated in proportion. But thank you, I'll keep this in mind.

  3. I reall, really like these, the figures are well defined, and everyone has their own personality/expression
The walks that you did look good too, especialy the one guy with the pointy nose in the last bunch with his back turned towards us, he's one of my favorites

  4. Bethany,
These are pretty good, overall. They all possess a good sense of character and overall weight shift. Sometimes the choice of pose is where things fall a little short. Definitely keep looking to the figure in motion - for seated figures, if you can exaggerate their posture, go ahead. Wait for a seated or stationary subject to turn their torso, shift their weight around - even here you can find a dynamic pose.
    Well done.
